Terms of Service

1. The Service

Maplin helps you visualize your X (Twitter) audience on a map. After you authenticate with X and subscribe, we process your followers and following to place accounts on a globe based on publicly available profile location information.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You are responsible for the X account you connect and for activity that occurs under your Maplin session. You may not use the Service if doing so would violate applicable law or X's terms.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Paid features require an active subscription. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future billing periods with notice. Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. By subscribing, you also agree to Paddle's buyer terms where applicable. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel renewal through the cancellation options provided by Paddle or by contacting us before the next renewal date.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with its operation;
• scrape, resell, or redistribute map outputs or audience data beyond personal or internal business use without our written permission;
• use the Service to harass, dox, or otherwise harm individuals; or
• violate X platform rules or applicable privacy and data protection laws.

5. Intellectual property

Maplin, including its software, branding, and design, is owned by us or our licensors. You retain rights to your own content and the public X data you lawfully access through your account. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service while your account is in good standing.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as X for authentication and profile data, Paddle for payments, Mapbox for maps, and hosting providers. Their terms and availability affect the Service. We are not responsible for third-party outages or policy changes outside our control.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Mapped locations are estimates derived from public profile text and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific results, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maplin and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive termination.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
